The Bank of Zambia issued Circular 10/2014 to require nominated management and operational staff from commercial banks and government entities to attend a cascading training program on the new Montran Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) system. Scheduled across multiple sessions in early April 2014 at the Bank’s ICT Training Room, the directive mandates participants to subsequently train internal staff on system operations. The program covers eleven participating financial institutions and agencies, with specific attendance dates assigned to ensure a smooth transition to the upgraded payment infrastructure.

As you are aware, the Bank of Zambia is in the process of implementing the new Montran RTGS system. In order to ensure a smooth implementation process of the system, a training programme for trainers on the operations of the new RTGS system has been agreed with the vendor, Montran. In this regard, you are kindly advised that training for all participating banks will be as follows:
