Solvency Capital Requirement
The Solvency Capital Requirement (SCR) must ensure that an insurance company is highly likely to be able to meet its obligations within the next year. The SCR must reflect the company's risks, and it is therefore important that the SCR is calculated correctly.
The company used a duration-based approximation method to calculate the capital requirement for interest rate risk, rather than calculating it using full repricing of both assets and liabilities. The company has been ordered to rectify this matter [1].
