The Securities Commission issued amendments to the Guidelines on Issuance of Corporate Bonds and Sukuk to Retail Investors effective 8 November 2017. The revisions introduce a new chapter establishing requirements for ASEAN Green Bonds and Sukuk, including mandatory adoption of ASEAN Green Bond Standards and strict prohibitions on using the 'ASEAN Green' label without compliance. Additionally, the document standardizes terminology by replacing 'private debt securities' with 'corporate bonds' and requires issuers to submit a compliance checklist with the Securities Commission.
