The Palestine Monetary Authority issued Circular No. 17/2025 designating Thursday, September 4, 2025, as an official holiday for payment service companies in observance of the Prophet's Birthday. Grounded in National Payments Law No. 41/2022 and a Council of Ministers decision, the circular mandates the temporary closure of payment service operations on that date. The Governor’s message further aligns this observance with the national aspiration of establishing an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
