To All Banks Operating in Palestine

Date: Wednesday, November 16, 2022

Subject: Bank Accounts of Patriarchates and Christian Churches

Based on the decree issued by His Excellency the President, may God protect him, dated 07/11/2008, regarding the recognition and activation of official recognition of churches accredited with the Palestinian National Authority; and following the appointment of His Excellency the Chairman of the Supreme Presidential Committee for Monitoring Church Affairs in Palestine, the following are the names of the heads of recognized Christian denominations in the State of Palestine:

  1. The Greek Orthodox Patriarchate, represented by His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III.
  2. The Latin Patriarchate, represented by His Beatitude Patriarch Pierbattista Pizzaballa.
  3. The Armenian Orthodox Patriarchate, represented by His Beatitude Patriarch Nourhan Manougian.
  4. The Custody of the Holy Land, represented by Father Francesco Patton.
  5. The Coptic Orthodox Patriarchate in Jerusalem, represented by His Grace Metropolitan Abuna Antonios.
  6. The Syriac Orthodox Patriarchate in Jerusalem, represented by His Grace Metropolitan Mar Antimos Jack Yacoub.
  7. The Coptic Orthodox Patriarchate, represented by His Grace Metropolitan Embacom.
  8. The Maronite Patriarchal Vicariate in Jerusalem and the Holy Land, represented by His Eminence Archbishop Moussa Hage.
  9. The Greek Catholic Melkite Patriarchate, represented by His Grace Metropolitan Yasser Ayyash.
  10. The Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land, represented by His Grace Metropolitan Sani Ibrahim Azar.
  11. The Episcopal Church in Jerusalem and the Middle East, represented by His Grace Metropolitan Hussam Naoum.
  12. The Syriac Catholic Patriarchal Vicariate, represented by His Grace Metropolitan Mar Yacoub Ephrem Semaan.
  13. The Armenian Catholic Patriarchal Vicariate, represented by His Grace Metropolitan Gregor Akladianos Kosa.

Therefore, the names of the aforementioned heads of denominations are to be adopted when opening and updating bank accounts for patriarchates and Christian churches.
