Closure of Application Window for Establishment of Digital Banks
The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas has approved the closure of the application window for establishing digital banks, effective December 1, 2025. All applications received by November 30, 2025, will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis, with those failing to meet documentary or licensing criteria being returned and considered closed. The central bank will conduct thorough parallel assessments of these applicants to balance digital innovation with financial system stability.
