The Bank of Israel has amended Proper Conduct of Banking Business Directive No. 311 to increase the efficiency of Chief Risk Officers by raising the threshold for significant risk exposure. The new rule sets the intervention threshold at the lower of NIS 50 million or 1 percent of the bank's capital, replacing the previous fixed NIS 25 million limit. Banking corporations retain the option to maintain the original NIS 25 million threshold even if it exceeds 1 percent of Tier 1 Capital.
