The Department of Issuance and Programming issues this circular, which constitutes Subject 16 "100 Peso Metallic Coin" and replaces Operational and Services External Circular DTE-191 Subject 42: "METALLIC COIN OF $100" dated April 23, 2024 and April 14, 2025. This is due to the change of area in charge of this regulation. Additionally, it is informed that, starting from April 27, 2026, 100 peso coins with a minting year of 2026 will be put into circulation.

Starting from August 18, 1992, the Bank of the Republic put into circulation 100 peso coins minted by the Mint, in accordance with what is established in Resolutions number 19, of April 3, 1992 of the Board of Directors of the Bank of the Republic and 2154, of July 3, 1992 of the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit. The characteristics of this new monetary sign are as follows:

The contour of this coin is circular and on the edge it bears the words "CIEN PESOS" engraved twice, separated by two stripes with uniform width striations.
It bears the Coat of Arms of Colombia, surrounded by the legend "REPUBLICA DE COLOMBIA" and the minting year 1992. All in turn, surrounded by griffins (dots) distributed on the extreme edge of the circumference, at equal distance from one another.
The face value of the coin appears expressed in Arabic numerals, below the word "PESOS" and the whole set surrounded by an open laurel crown at the top. On the extreme edge of the circumference, griffins are also observed at equal distance from one another.
The Bank of the Republic delivers this coin to the public and to banking establishments in bags or in cartridges packed in boxes, according to the stock in each office, with the following characteristics:

MINTING 1993 In the year 1993, 100 peso coins produced by the Mint were put into circulation, with a minting year of 1993. These monetary signs have the same design and identical general characteristics as those identified with the minting year 1992.
MINTING 1994 In the year 1994, 100 peso coins produced by the firm V. Deutsche Nickel of Germany and by the Mint were put into circulation, with a minting year of 1994. These monetary signs have the same design and identical general characteristics as those identified with the minting year 1993.
MINTING 1995 In the year 1995, 100 peso coins produced by the Mint were put into circulation, with a minting year of 1995. These monetary signs have the same design and identical general characteristics as those identified with the minting year 1994.
MINTING 2006 On February 27, 2006, 100 peso coins produced by the Mint were put into circulation, with a minting year of 2006, in accordance with what is established in External Resolution No. 2 of May 14, 2004 of the Board of Directors of the Bank of the Republic. These monetary signs have the same design and identical general characteristics as those identified with the minting year 1995.
MINTING 2007 On August 10, 2007, 100 peso coins produced by the Mint were put into circulation, with a minting year of 2007, in accordance with what is established in External Resolution No.

through External Resolution No. 4 of 2012 of the Board of Directors. The thematic orientation of the new coins confirms the interest of the Bank of the Republic in the promotion and preservation of our natural resources and sustainable development.

OBLVERSE It has a circular frame in high relief defined with a flat and smooth surface, followed by a griffin or succession of points. In the upper semicircle of the coin, a flat and shiny smooth zone with the texts Frailejón and in microtext the scientific name of this species. In the center of the coin is the image of the Frailejón, a characteristic plant of the páramos, present in the Andes mountain range. In the lower left part there are fine horizontal lines that disperse towards the right part.
REVERSE It has a circular frame in high relief defined with a flat and smooth surface, followed by a griffin or succession of points and then fine lines in high relief in the form of waves, whose set forms a circle, within which is found at the top, the text "REPUBLICA DE COLOMBIA" and at the bottom the year of issue in high relief. In the center, the denomination in Arabic numerals is appreciated and below the word "PESOS".
DISTRIBUTION The Bank of the Republic will deliver these coins to the public and to banking establishments in bags, which will have the following presentation:

The bags will have a tie, muzzle type for the Bank's offices and sewn for the Mint and will be marked with vertical bars of yellow and white colors. These new coins will circulate simultaneously with the coins of this denomination that are currently in circulation.
MINTING 2013 On March 4, 2013, 100 peso coins produced by the Mint were put into circulation, with a minting year of 2013. These monetary signs have the same design and identical general characteristics as those identified with the minting year 2012-New Family.
