Bank of Zambia Circular 10/1994 on Statistics for Foreign Exchange Transactions

The Bank of Zambia has issued revised FX Purchases and FX Sales reporting forms to replace previous versions that aggregated transaction details. These updated forms mandate commercial banks and bureaux de change to record the specific exchange rate, dealer name, and detailed purposes or sources of each foreign exchange transaction while omitting customer names. Authorized dealers are required to submit completed weekly batches of these forms to the Bank of Zambia Research Department every Monday by 12:00 hours.

C B Circular No.10/94

To : All Commercial Bank and Bureaux de Change

Dear Sirs

## STATISTICS ON FOREIGN EXCHANGE TRANSACTIONS

Reference is made to Bank of Zambia C B Circular No. 4/94 concerning statistical data on foreign exchange transactions. We wish to advise that the forms on which this data is submitted to us, namely FX Purchases and FX Sales, have been revised to delete the provision for customer's name and to include a provision for the exchange rate at which the transaction was made as well as commercial bank's or bureaux de change's name. We have also listed separately the purposes for which foreign exchange is purchased and the sources from which foreign exchange is obtained. The forms being withdrawn lumped all these items together.

Kindly find attached copies of the revised forms for your implementation with immediate effect.

Yours faithfully

G B MBULO
