Bank of Zambia Extends Comment Submission Deadline for Draft Deposit Protection Directives 2025
The Bank of Zambia extends the comment submission deadline for its Draft Banking and Financial Services (Deposit Protection) Directives 2025 to February 14, 2025. Commercial banks and deposit-taking non-bank financial institutions must submit their feedback using the prescribed review template to designated officers, with copies routed to respective Desk Officers. This extension provides regulated entities additional time to thoroughly review the proposed regulatory framework before finalizing their submissions.

EXTENSION OF THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION OF COMMENTS ON THE DRAFT BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES (DEPOSIT PROTECTION) DIRECTIVES, 2025
Further to CB Circular No. 03/2025, in which we solicited comments on the draft Banking and Financial Services (Deposit Protection) Directives, 2025, please be advised that the deadline for submission of comments has been extended to February 14, 2025. This extension is intended to provide ample time for institutions to review the proposals and familiarize with the regulations before submitting their comments.
As previously indicated, your comments should be submitted in the format and manner outlined in the provided review template and sent to Mr. Vincent Suze: vsuze@boz.zm, Mr. Chimwemwe Munthali: cmunthali@boz.zm, Ms. Naomi Lungu: nlungu@boz.zm and a copy sent to your respective Desk Officers.
