Belize Exchange Control Regulations Act Revised Edition 2020
The Government of Belize, through the Minister of Finance, is empowered to establish regulations governing exchange control matters including currency, gold, and property transfers. The Act appoints a Controller to administer and enforce these regulations, with the authority to issue binding orders and grant exemptions from specific provisions. Violations of the regulations carry penalties of up to ten thousand dollars or twelve months imprisonment, with enhanced fines for repeat offenses or those involving significant asset values.
