The Palestine Monetary Authority has amended Instructions No. (2012/08) by replacing Paragraph (3) to mandate strict compliance for banks opening accounts for charitable, cooperative, and civil society organizations. Financial institutions must now collect sufficient information and documentation to fully satisfy "Know Your Customer" (KYC) requirements whenever an account is opened or the entity's legal status changes. Additionally, banks are required to update customer account data using official records from the Ministry of Interior or the competent legal authority in accordance with Instructions No. (2009/8).

Subject: Opening Accounts for Charitable, Cooperative, and Civil Society Organizations
With reference to the above subject, we hereby inform you of the cancellation of Paragraph (3) of Instructions No. (2012/08) dated 08/08/2012 and its amendment to read as follows:
"Compliance with the general requirements for account opening by obtaining sufficient information, data, and documents to meet the 'Know Your Customer' rule requirements when opening an account or upon any change in the legal status of the association, and compliance with the requirements of Paragraph (7/1/8) of Instructions No. (2009/8) regarding the updating of customer account data based on official records, documents, and data held by the Ministry of Interior or the competent authority according to the prevailing law."
