Parameters for External Evaluation of Statutory Committees of Market Infrastructure Institutions and Mechanism for Internal Evaluation

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) mandates that Market Infrastructure Institutions (MIIs) appoint an independent external agency to evaluate the performance of their statutory committees every three years. This external assessment must adhere to specific criteria and weightages, including roles and responsibilities, meeting effectiveness, and governance aspects, with prior approval from SEBI. Additionally, MIIs are required to conduct annual internal evaluations of their own performance and that of their statutory committees, submitting the resulting reports to their Governing Boards within three months of the financial year's end.
