Decision on Issuing Gold and Silver Jubilee Coins

The Council of the Central Bank of Montenegro issued a decision on 25 March 2016 to release commemorative gold and silver coins marking the 10th anniversary of the restoration of Montenegro's independence. The regulation specifies the issuance of 100 gold coins with a 10 perpers denomination and 300 silver coins with a 1 perper denomination, detailing their precise weight, fineness, and design elements. The decision further defines the obverse and reverse imagery for both coin types and establishes that their distribution and packaging are governed by a separate Central Bank decision.

Pursuant to Article 44 paragraph 2 point 3 and in conjunction with Article 5 paragraph 2 of the Central Bank of Montenegro Law (OGM 40/10, 46/10, 06/13), the Council of the Central Bank of Montenegro, at its meeting held on 25 March 2016, passed the following DECISION on issuing gold and silver jubilee coins Article 1 The Central Bank of Montenegro (hereinafter: the Central Bank) shall issue gold and silver jubilee coins in 2016 on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the restoration of Montenegro's independence. Article 2 Gold jubilee coin (hereinafter: gold coin) referred to in Article 1 herein shall be issued in denomination of 10 perpers and in the quantity of 100 pieces. Gold coin weighing 8 grams and 24 mm diameter shall be made of gold alloy, fineness 900/1000, in special proof technique with brilliant mirror-like flat surfaces and matte relief details. The permissible deviation from the weight of the gold coin is 2 ‰ (prom) above the weight specified in paragraph 1 above. Article 3 Silver jubilee coin (hereinafter: silver coin) referred to in Article 1 herein shall be issued in denomination of 1 perper and in the quantity of 300 pieces. Silver coin weighing 17 grams and 34 mm diameter shall be made of silver alloy, fineness 925/1000, in special proof technique with brilliant mirror-like flat surfaces and matte relief details. The permissible deviation from the weight of the gold coin is 2 ‰ (prom) above the weight specified in paragraph 1 above Article 4 The obverse of gold and silver coins shall be as follows: in the central part there is a visual display of the current territory of Montenegro, and in the down part there is stylized display of sea surface. The text is engraved in Latin letters on the borders of the coins: “10 years of restoration of Montenegro’s independence”, while jubilee years, 2006-1016, are engraved in the down part below the display of the sea surface. The reverse of gold and silver coins shall be as follows: in the upper part there is a text engraved in Latin letter: “May Montenegro Live Forever”. In the central part there is coat

of arms of Montenegro, and in the down part there is a sign of nominal value and monetary unit, for gold coin “10 perpers” and for silver coin “1 perper”. Rim of gold and silver coins are milled. Article 5 The manner of gold and silver coins using and packaging (the structure of collection) shall be governed by special decision of the Central Bank. Article 6 This decision shall enter into force on the eighth day following that of its publication in the Official Gazette of Montenegro.
