The Prudential Authority issued Circular C2/2020 to derecognize Land and Agricultural Development Bank of South Africa bills as Level 2 High-Quality Liquid Assets. This regulatory change follows the South African Reserve Bank's temporary suspension of these bills as eligible collateral for its refinancing operations. Banks are prohibited from including these bills in their Liquidity Coverage Ratio calculations and must adjust their portfolios within 30 calendar days.
