The Board of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic issued Resolution No. 36/6 to mandate that commercial banks and financial credit institutions licensed by the Bank develop accounting policies in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards. These new policies are required to be implemented starting January 1, 2003, while previously existing accounting policies are designated as having a recommendatory character from that same date. The resolution assigns oversight of its execution to Deputy Chairman K. Sh. Sharshkeeve.
