Banco de Portugal issued Instruction No. 1/2026 to regulate the reporting of actual or potential liabilities arising from credit operations to the Central Credit Registry. This directive mandates that supervised entities communicate credit responsibility data to centralize and disseminate information for financial stability monitoring. The instruction entered into force on February 25, 2026, and explicitly revokes the previous Instruction No. 17/2018.
