Decision on the Issuance and Circulation of Convertible Mark Banknotes
The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued a decision on May 28, 1998, authorizing the printing and circulation of Convertible Mark (KM) banknotes as legal tender. The regulation mandates that all public institutions and private entities must accept these banknotes, which feature dual Latin and Cyrillic versions with specific literary portraits and security features. The banknotes were scheduled for circulation starting June 22, 1998, for lower denominations and by early August 1998 for higher denominations.
