Bank of Zambia Circular No. 17/2025: Routine Maintenance at Lusaka Data Centre
The Bank of Zambia will conduct routine maintenance at its Lusaka Data Centre from July 5 to July 8, 2025, during the Heroes and Unity Day public holidays. Core financial applications, including RTGS/ZIPPS, the CSD, and the investor portal, will operate from a Business Continuity Management Site while other services experience intermittent temporary disruptions. Commercial banks and payment service providers are expected to maintain full operational capacity throughout the maintenance window to ensure uninterrupted national financial infrastructure.

NOTIFICATION OF ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AT LUSAKA DATA CENTRE
Reference is made to the above subject.
This communication serves to formally notify you that the Bank of Zambia will be conducting routine maintenance on its Lusaka Data Centre during the upcoming Heroes and Unity Day public holidays. This essential maintenance is scheduled to commence on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at 16:00 hours, and is expected to be concluded by Tuesday, July 8, 2025.
During this period, all the core applications, including the RTGS/ZIPPS, CSD and investor portal, will run from the Business Continuity Management Site and there will be intermittent temporary disruptions to all other services. These activities are vital for improving the overall performance, reliability, and security of our systems, which underpin the national financial infrastructure.
This operation will minimize downtime, and we encourage all commercial banks and payment system providers to be operational during this scheduled maintenance period.
