Approval of "Apostille" Authentication for Foreign Public Documents
SAMA confirms that banks no longer require Ministry of Foreign Affairs or embassy authentication for foreign public documents bearing an Apostille certificate, provided they meet the convention's formal requirements. Verification of these certificates can be independently conducted via the document's QR code or contact details, or through the official Hague Conference on Private International Law website. This streamlined process aligns with Saudi Arabia's accession to the Hague Convention and eliminates redundant diplomatic certification steps.
