Decision on the Issuance, Basic Characteristics, and Circulation of Coinage in Denominations of 5 Convertible Marks and 5 Feninga

The Governing Board of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued this decision to define the design specifications and authorize the circulation of 5 Convertible Marks and 5 Feninga coins. The regulation details the specific visual elements, including national symbols and bilingual inscriptions, for both the obverse and reverse sides of the new coinage. These coins were scheduled for release into circulation in 2006, with the exact date to be determined and announced by the Governor.

The word "Feninga" is printed such that above the numerical value indication, the word "Feninga" is printed in Latin script, and below in Cyrillic script. Around the word "Feninga," the name "Bosnia and Herzegovina" is printed such that above the numerical value indication, the name "Bosnia and Herzegovina" is printed in Cyrillic script, and below in Latin script, with triangle symbols between them. Between the word "Feninga" and the name "Bosnia and Herzegovina," there are three concentric circles, and between the name "Bosnia and Herzegovina" and the border line, there are dots in a row.

  1. The appearance of the obverse side of the coin denominations in point 1 of this Decision is as follows: 1) For the 5 KM denomination, in the center is a dove with an olive branch in its beak, and above the dove is the numerical indication 2005. Within the outer ring, the name "Bosnia and Herzegovina" is printed, specifically to the right of the dove in Cyrillic script and to the left in Latin script, separated by two triangles. 2) For the 5 feninga denomination, in the center is a triangle, and parallel to its left side runs a row of five-pointed stars, and to the left of the triangle is the indication 2005. Around the triangle, the name "Bosnia and Herzegovina" is printed such that above the triangle, the name "Bosnia and Herzegovina" is printed in Latin script, and below in Cyrillic script, with triangle symbols between them. Between the triangle and the name "Bosnia and Herzegovina," there are three concentric circles, and between the name "Bosnia and Herzegovina" and the border line, there are dots in a row.

  2. The coinage from point 1 of this Decision will be put into circulation in 2006, and the exact date will be determined and published by the Governor of the Central Bank in the media.

  3. This Decision enters into force on the day of its publication in the "Official Gazette of BiH," and will also be published in the "Official Gazette of the Federation of BiH," the "Official Gazette of the Republika Srpska," and the "Official Gazette of the Brčko District of BiH."
