The National Bank of Serbia issued a decision to produce 210,000 numismatic silver coins honoring Nikola Tesla in 2019. Each 100 dinar coin weighs 31.10 grams with 99.95% fineness and features Tesla's portrait on the obverse and a radio-controlled boat model on the reverse. The issuance includes 10,000 proof pieces and 200,000 high-gloss pieces, with the bank retaining the right to determine the sale price.
RS Official Gazette, No 76/2019 Pursuant to Article 18, paragraph 1, item 3) and Article 57а, paragraph 1 of the Law on the National Bank of Serbia (RS Official Gazette, Nos 72/2003, 55/2004, 85/2005 – other law, 44/2010, 76/2012, 106/2012, 14/2015, 40/2015 ‒ CC decision and 44/2018), the Governor of the National Bank of Serbia hereby issues this DECISION ON ISSUANCE AND MAIN FEATURES OF NUMISMATIC MONEY WITH THE PORTRAIT OF NIKOLA TESLA
2 which demonstrated radio and wireless transmission as one of Nikola Tesla’s inventions. The first line of the text above the radio controlled boat model reads “120TH ANNIVERSARY” and the second line reads “REMOTE CONTROL”. To the left of the model runs the wording “PATENT#”, the second line reads “US 613809A”, and the third line reads “NOV. 8, 1898”. The first line of the text below the radio controlled boat model reads “WIRELESS TRANSMISSION”, the second line designates the year of minting “2019”, and the third line includes the wording “NBS” in both Latin and Cyrillic script, separated by a dot. In the upper half, above the motif in the central part, the wording “REPUBLIKA SRBIJA” runs in a semicircle, left to right, in both Latin and Cyrillic script, while the central part features the Great Coat-of-Arms of the Republic of Serbia. In the lower half, below the motif in the central part, runs the wording “1 oz. 999 SILVER”. To the right of this wording, separated by a dot, runs the wording “DINARA 100 ДИНАРА”. The wordings run in a semicircle in the upper and lower half, and are separated by a dot. 6. Along the rim of the numismatic money from Section 1 hereof are vertical rounded reeds of 0.20 mm in diameter. 7. The National Bank of Serbia shall sell the numismatic money referred to in Section 1 of this Decision at a price it determines. 8.
