Status Update and Best Practices on Action Plans for Integrating Climate and Environmental Risks in Non-Bank Intermediaries

The Bank of Italy published the main results of monitoring action plans developed by a sample of non-bank intermediaries to integrate climate and environmental risks into their corporate strategies and risk management frameworks. This communication provides an update on best practices observed, supplementing the report released in December 2023. The document serves as a regulatory update on the progress of integrating environmental risks into the governance and control systems of these financial entities.

The main results of the monitoring of the implementation of action plans developed by a sample of non-bank intermediaries (NBIs), aimed at favoring the progressive integration of climate and environmental risks into corporate strategies, governance and control systems, and the risk management framework, have been published. Furthermore, an update of the best practices observed has been provided, which integrates the report published in December 2023.
