Notice: Finance and Money Services (Amendment) Act, 2020

The Minister of Finance of the Virgin Islands issued this statutory instrument to exercise powers granted under Section 1(2) of the Financing and Money Services (Amendment) Act, 2020. The notice formally declares that the Act shall come into force on May 4, 2020. This appointment of the effective date was made by Andrew A. Fahie on April 30, 2020, and published in the Gazette.

VIRGIN ISLANDS STATUTORY INSTRUMENT 2020 NO. 47 FINANCING AND MONEY SERVICES (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2020 (No. 6 of 2020) A NOTICE BY THE MINISTER OF FINANCE UNDER SECTION 1(2) OF THE FINANCING AND MONEY SERVICES (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2020 DECLARING THE DATE ON WHICH THE SAID ACT SHALL COME INTO FORCE [Gazetted 30th April, 2020] WHEREAS it is provided by section 1(2) of the Financing and Money Services (Amendment) Act, 2020 (No. 6 of 2020) that the said Act shall come into force on such date as the Minister may, by Notice published in the Gazette, determine; NOW THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers vested in me, I hereby appoint the 4 th day of May, 2020 to be the date on which the Financing and Money Services (Amendment) Act, 2020 shall come into force.
