The Bank of Uganda has launched a review of its prudential returns to streamline data collection, eliminate duplication, and update reporting frameworks for supervised financial institutions. Commercial banks, credit institutions, microfinance deposit-taking entities, and forex bureaus must submit feedback identifying gaps, inconsistencies, or necessary amendments by close of business on 10 February 2022. All responses should be forwarded to the Director of Commercial Banking to directly inform the finalization of the updated regulatory reporting requirements.

Review of Bank of Uganda Prudential Returns
Bank of Uganda has embarked on a process of reviewing all prudential returns currently used for collection of data from the Supervised Financial Institutions with the intention of streamlining data collection, eliminating duplication and updating the returns to cater for the developments in banking supervision and regulation.
This is to seek your input in the review process to highlight gaps, duplications, inconsistencies or any other comments on the existing prudential returns that may require amendment.
Please forward your responses to the Director Commercial Banking by close of business on Thursday 10 February 2022.
