The Central Bank of Kenya has informed commercial banks that the Monetary Policy Committee has increased the Central Bank Rate by 25 basis points to 6.00%. This change is effective immediately and was communicated to all chief executives of commercial banks.

Fax: 340192 23rd March, 201 I BANKING CIRCULAR NO. 2 OF 20 I 1 ALL CHIEF EXECUTIVES OF COMMERCIAL BANKS TO: REVIEW OF CENTRAL BANK RATE (CBR) The Central Bank of Kenya wishes to inform all commercial banks that the Monetary Policy Committee at its meeting held on 22nd March, 2011 reviewed the CBR upwards by 25 basis points from 5.75 per cent to 6.00 per cent.
This change takes effect immediately.
