The Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka proposes re-introducing the 'Introduction' listing method for equity on the Colombo Stock Exchange with enhanced regulatory safeguards. The proposal mandates stricter lock-in periods for pre-listing shares, requires a fairness opinion to determine the reference price, and increases the minimum public shareholder requirement from 100 to 200 to improve liquidity. Stakeholders are invited to submit comments on these amendments to the CSE Listing Rules by October 4, 2013.
