Addition of Leverage Ratio Requirements in Module CA – Volumes 1 and 2

The Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) has issued a consultation proposing the addition of Leverage Ratio requirements to Module CA, introducing specific chapters for Islamic (CA-10) and conventional banks (CA-15). All Bahraini bank licensees, audit firms, and law firms must submit their feedback, including nil comments and impact assessments with leverage measures. Electronic responses in editable format are due by September 16, 2018, via email to consultation@cbb.gov.bh.

### Subject: Consultation on addition of “Leverage Ratio” requirements in to the Module CA of Volumes 1 & 2

Further to the changes introduced by Basel Committee on Leverage Ratio which was finalised in December 2017, the CBB is issuing a second consultation on the Leverage Ratio requirement Chapter (CA-10) for Islamic bank licensees and Chapter (CA-15) for conventional bank licensees.

The proposed module shall be available on the CBB website ([www.cbb.gov.bh](http://www.cbb.gov.bh)) under the “open consultations” section.

The CBB requests all Bahraini bank licensees, Audit firms, and Law firms to provide their comments, including ‘nil comments’ on these proposed requirements. Banks also are required to provide the CBB with an impact assessment and leverage measures.

Responses must be sent electronically, in an editable format, to **consultataion@cbb.gov.bh**, by 16<sup>th</sup> September 2018.
