Bank of Portugal issued Instruction No. 7/2019 to incorporate the European Banking Authority's guidelines on Simple, Transparent, and Standardised (STS) criteria for both ABCP and non-ABCP securitizations. This regulation aligns national supervisory requirements with EBA/GL/2018/08 and EBA/GL/2018/09 to enhance transparency and risk management in credit markets. It was subsequently amended by Instruction No. 1/2020 and applies to various financial institutions including credit institutions and investment firms.
Incorporates the EBA Guidelines on the STS (simple, transparent and standardised) criteria applicable to ABCP (asset-backed commercial paper) and non-ABCP securitizations (EBA/GL/2018/08 and EBA/GL/2018/09). Amended by Instruction No. 1/2020, published in the Official Gazette No. 1/2020, of 15-01.
