Accepting the National ID Card – Third Generation
The Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority has officially accepted the Third Generation National ID Card for regulatory and operational use, confirming that previously issued cards remain valid until their expiration dates. This circular mandates compliance from all banks, financing companies, exchange houses, and supervisory departments operating within the Kingdom. It further aligns domestic financial regulations with the Ministry of Interior’s latest identification standards to streamline customer verification processes.

The Authority has received Circular No. 66899 from His Royal Highness the Minister of Interior, dated 16/06/1439 AH, which announces the launch of the Third Generation National ID Card and approves its use. It further confirms that previously issued cards remain valid until their expiration dates.
