The Central Bank of the Argentine Republic (BCRA) issues Circular SINAP 1-237 to update the consolidated text governing the National Payments System – Electronic Payment Medium (MEP). The circular updates operating hours, establishes a dedicated MEP administration unit, adds a paragraph on MEP statements, revises clause 13 of the mutual adherence agreement in accordance with Law 26.994, and revises the operations list by removing codes DM4, DM5, and DE2 while incorporating new external and internal transfer operations. Participating financial entities, electronic clearing houses, and market infrastructures must comply with the updated formal and technical requirements, adapt their systems to the revised web services and contingency protocols, and utilize the designated email channels for operational inquiries.
