Decision on medals and tokens similar to euro coins
The Council of the Central Bank of Montenegro issued this Decision to regulate the production, sale, import, and distribution of medals and tokens resembling euro coins. It prohibits such items if they use euro terminology, fall within specific size reference bands, or mimic protected coin designs, unless they meet defined exemptions for precious metals or distinct physical characteristics. Economic entities must obtain prior approval from the Central Bank and the European Commission, facing fines of up to 10,000 euros for non-compliance.
