The Central Bank of Kenya's Monetary Policy Committee reviewed and lowered the Central Bank Rate by 50 basis points to 10.00% from 10.50% at its meeting on September 20, 2016. This change took immediate effect, and as a result, borrowing from the Central Bank Window will be at a rate of 16.00%.

Review Of Central Bank Rate (Cbr)
The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the Central Bank of Kenya at its meeting held on September 20, 2016 reviewed the CBR downwards by 50 basis points to 10.00 per cent from 10.50 per cent. The adjusted rate takes effect immediately.
Following the rate adjustment, borrowing from the Central Bank Window will be at 16.00 per cent.
