SEC Directive to Kalpitiya Beach Resort PLC Regarding IPO Fund Misuse

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka issued a directive to Kalpitiya Beach Resort PLC for failing to construct the Citrus Kalpitiya resort within the timeframe promised in its 2011 IPO prospectus. The regulator mandated that the company convene an Extraordinary General Meeting by May 10, 2015, to inform shareholders of the financial status and vote on an alternative use for the raised funds. This resolution must be supported by a detailed report from the company's auditors to ensure shareholders can make an informed decision regarding the unutilized proceeds.
