Circular No. 6: Resumption of Financial and Banking Services in the Gaza Strip

The Palestine Monetary Authority issued Circular No. 6/2025 mandating all banks operating in the Gaza Strip to activate operational plans and monitor their execution by specialized teams. The directive requires these institutions to rehabilitate and operate undamaged headquarters, branches, and ATMs while preparing to serve the public. Furthermore, banks must deliver basic services according to available resources and actively promote electronic service channels following the ceasefire agreement.

Circular No. 6/2025 To all banks operating in Palestine Date: Monday, January 19, 2025

Subject: Resumption of Financial and Banking Services in the Gaza Strip

In light of the ceasefire agreement entering into force, and following the results of the meeting with members of the Executive Office of the Banks Association, all banks operating in the Gaza Strip are required to comply with the following:

  1. Activate the operational plans of banks and monitor their implementation by specialized teams.
  2. Rehabilitate and operate undamaged bank headquarters, branches, and ATMs, and prepare to receive citizens and serve them.
  3. Provide basic services to citizens according to available capacities and resources, and encourage the use of electronic services.
