Decision on the Issuance of 5 and 50 Fening and 1 Convertible Mark Coins

The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued a decision on March 27, 2025, to mint and circulate 2025-dated coins in denominations of 5 and 50 fening and 1 convertible mark. These coins are designated as legal tender, requiring all public and private entities within Bosnia and Herzegovina to accept them at nominal value for cash transactions and debt settlement. The Central Bank will introduce the coins into circulation successively through its central office, main branches, and branches in accordance with inventory and issuance plans.

CENTRAL BANK OF BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA

Pursuant to Article 2, paragraph (3), point h., Article 7, point a), Articles 39 and 45 of the Law on the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (Official Gazette of BiH, No. 1/97, 29/02, 8/09, 13/03, 14/03, 09/05, 76/06 and 32/07),

The Governing Board of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at its 3rd meeting held on March 27, 2025,

adopts

DECISION

on the issuance of coins of the convertible mark

denominations of 5 and 50 fening and 1 convertible mark

Article 1. (Introductory Provisions) The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina has minted coins of the convertible mark (hereinafter: convertible mark coins) in denominations of 5 and 50 fening and 1 convertible mark, issue of 2025.

Article 2. (Basic Features and Design of Convertible Mark Coins) (1) The convertible mark coins referred to in Article 1 of this Decision have the following basic features and design: a) 5 fening coins in accordance with the Decision on Issuance, Basic Features and Issuance into Circulation of Coins in Denominations of 5 Convertible Marks and 5 Fening (Official Gazette of BiH, No. 92/05). b) 50 fening coins in accordance with the Decision on Issuance, Basic Features and Issuance into Circulation of Coins in Denominations of 10, 20 and 50 Fening (Official Gazette of BiH, No. 24/98 and 25/98). c) 1 convertible mark coins in accordance with the Decision on Issuance, Basic Features and Issuance into Circulation of Coins in Denominations of 1 and 2 Convertible Marks (Official Gazette of BiH, No. 20/00).

(2) The convertible mark coins referred to in Article 1 of this Decision are minted with the issue year "2025".

Article 3. (Legal Tender) In accordance with the Law on the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, all public and private institutions and establishments, legal and natural persons are obliged to accept the convertible mark coins from this Decision at their nominal value as legal tender when offered in cash transactions, or in settlement and payment of any obligations towards them, throughout the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Article 4. (Issuance of Convertible Mark Coins into Circulation) Upon entry into force of this Decision, the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina will, through the Central Office, main units and branches, issue the convertible mark coins from this Decision into circulation successively, in accordance with the inventory of convertible mark coin stocks and the plan for issuing convertible mark coins into circulation.

Article 5. (Entry into Force) This Decision shall enter into force on the eighth day from the date of publication in the "Official Gazette of BiH", and shall also be published in the "Official Gazette of the Federation of BiH", "Official Gazette of the Republika Srpska" and "Official Gazette of the Brčko District of BiH".
