Bank of Zambia Circular 3/1997 on Publication of Financial Statements
The Bank of Zambia mandates all commercial banks to publish their monthly financial statements in a nationally circulated newspaper four times annually, effective 30 June 1997. Pursuant to section 61(4) of the Banking and Financial Services Act 1994, institutions must submit the prescribed balance sheet, income statement, capital position, and liquidity ratio reports within thirty days following each quarter-end. Bank managing directors are held accountable for regulatory compliance, with non-compliance or late publication subject to statutory penalties under the Act.
