The Central Bank of the Republic of San Marino informs savers and the general public that posts and videos have been disseminated on certain social media channels in which the name and image of President Catia Tomasetti are used in an evidently artificial manner, likely created using artificial intelligence techniques (deepfake), with content aimed at soliciting investments.

The Authority wishes to draw attention to the following essential points:

  1. No form of investment solicitation, commercial promotion, or offer of financial products may be carried out by representatives of the Central Bank of the Republic of San Marino or on behalf of the Authority.

  2. Official communications of the Central Bank are published exclusively through official institutional channels; any message coming from different sources must be considered unauthorized.

  3. Savers are advised not to respond, not to share, and not to make payments or transfers following messages, videos, or posts that request investments or deposits in favor of private individuals or alleged instruments promoted through such content.

In case of doubts or receipt of reports deemed suspicious, the public is invited to consult the Authority's official channels and to promptly notify the competent police authorities for investigative activities related to identity forgery and online fraud.

The Central Bank of the Republic of San Marino is proceeding with complaints to the competent Authorities in order to protect savers and the integrity of the financial system.
