Bank of Zambia Circular No. 17 of 2021 on Government Accounts and Account Balances

The Bank of Zambia mandates all commercial banks to submit government account and balance data by close of business on December 1, 2021. Submissions must detail the number of government accounts across ministries, provinces, and spending agencies with aggregate balances as of November 26, 2021. Furthermore, banks must report monthly average government balances from January 2013 to December 2018 and average end-of-week government deposit balances from January 2014 onward.

## GOVERNMENT ACCOUNTS AND ACCOUNT BALANCES  

Kindly be advised that you are required to submit to the Bank of Zambia the following information:  

1. Number of Government bank accounts split by account category (e.g., revenue collection accounts, mirror accounts, donor accounts) and by ministries, provinces and spending agencies, including the aggregate balances on these accounts as of November 26, 2021.  
2. Monthly averages of Government balances at your respective commercial banks from January 2013 to December 2018.  
3. Average end-of-week balances of Government deposits from January 2014 to date.  

This information should be submitted by close of business on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 and should be emailed to the following email address: `cnkabalika@boz.zm` with copies to your Desk Officer on or before the deadline indicated above.
