The Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority requires all banks operating in the Kingdom to supply coin currency across all branches and ATMs, ensuring daily availability of one-rial notes and their fractions for customers and commercial establishments. This mandate addresses observed shortages in bank vaults by mandating that banks maintain adequate coin reserves and fulfill requests through SAMA Net. Compliance will be verified through routine inspection rounds conducted by the Authority's Currency Department.
