The Central Bank of Seychelles has mandated revised operating hours for all Class A and B Bureaux de Change, effective January 6, 2021. Under the new schedule, these institutions must operate from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on weekdays and until 12:00 p.m. on weekends, with the flexibility to close select branches upon regulatory approval. Furthermore, BDCs must prominently display public notices regarding the adjustments and may submit daily compliance returns ahead of the 3:00 p.m. deadline to align with Ministry of Health safety directives.

To this end, as from January 06, 2021, until further notice, all BDCs will operate during the approved opening hours outlined below: • from 8.00 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. on weekdays • from 8.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. on weekends. Dependent on their individual circumstances, BDCs may decide to reduce their hours of operation and to keep some of their branches closed subject to the approval of CBS. Accordingly, BDCs should ensure that the general public is informed of the changes to their opening hours or closure of their respective branches, by means of displaying a notice at a conspicuous place at their premises. Moreover, BDCs are required to comply with all reporting requirement of CBS and may submit the daily returns as soon as completed, being earlier than the current 3.00 p.m. deadline.
