Box 701, Victoria, Seychelles Telephone: [+248] 428 20 00 Ref: FSD/BC/GEN 1 Fax: [+248] 432 36 65 E-mail: enquiries@cbs.sc Date: January 5, 2021 To All Bureaux de Change Change in Opening Hours in light of Covid-19 In light of the recent measures announced by the Ministry of Health due to the worsening Covid-19 situation locally, the Central Bank of Seychelles (CBS) wishes to advise that it has approved for a change in the operating hours of Class A and Class B Bureaux de Change (BDCs). To this end, as from January 06, 2021, until further notice, all BDCs will operate during the approved opening hours outlined below: • from 8.00 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. on weekdays • from 8.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. on weekends. Dependent on their individual circumstances, BDCs may decide to reduce their hours of operation and to keep some of their branches closed subject to the approval of CBS. Accordingly, BDCs should ensure that the general public is informed of the changes to their opening hours or closure of their respective branches, by means of displaying a notice at a conspicuous place at their premises. Moreover, BDCs are required to comply with all reporting requirement of CBS and may submit the daily returns as soon as completed, being earlier than the current 3.00 p.m. deadline. All BDCs should operate as per the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health to ensure the safety of both staff and customers. CBS trusts in your adherence to the above. Yours sincerely, C.
