The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) mandates that Stock Exchanges, Depositories, and Clearing Corporations conduct joint annual inspections of market intermediaries to reduce operational burdens and improve regulatory efficiency. The regulator requires these Market Intermediary Institutions (MIIs) to establish an information-sharing mechanism and designate a Lead MII to initiate enforcement actions based on revised, risk-based selection criteria. MIIs must frame a joint Standard Operating Procedure by November 1, 2025, and amend their bye-laws to implement this unified inspection framework effective December 1, 2025.
