Insurance Regulations 2025
The Isle of Man Financial Services Authority issued the Insurance Regulations 2025 to implement and amend the regulatory framework under the Insurance Act 2008, effective 30 June 2025. These regulations establish detailed rules restricting capital distributions when minimum capital requirements exceed solvency capital requirements, mandate annual audited accounts under UK or international standards, and define authorization combinations for diverse insurer structures including captives, special purpose vehicles, cell companies, and limited partnerships. The framework also introduces fast-track authorisation pathways, regulatory sandboxing provisions, and specific compliance obligations for permit holders and registered insurance managers while governing the surrender, cancellation, and transition of existing authorisations.
