The Capital Markets Authority, in collaboration with Banque du Liban, has issued Announcement No. 48 to extend the licensing compliance deadline for banks and financial institutions from December 31, 2018, to March 31, 2019. Institutions must submit a signed document detailing their intended securities activities alongside an external auditor’s report confirming full regulatory compliance. This extension allows these entities to finalize their licensing files without obtaining a new license, thereby ensuring continuous operation under the amended Series 2000 regulations.
Announcement no 48 Related to the amendment of Announcement no 41 and the Licensing and Registration regulation in Capital Markets- Series 2000 Pursuant to the Law No 161 dated 17/8/2011 on Capital Markets, Pursuant to the decision of the Capital Markets Authority’s Board No 20/14/18 taken in its meeting held on 24/12/2018 We inform you of the following: First: Paragraph (3) of Article 2501 of the Licensing and Registration regulation in Capital Markets- Series 2000 related to the Enforcement of the provisions of this Regulation as for the deadline to be extended from 31/12/2018 to 31/3/2019, as follows: (3) Banks and financial institutions, which intend to continue to carry out securities business, are given a deadline ending on 31/03/2019 to complete the relevant file at the Capital Markets Authority, without the need for getting a new license.
