Islamic Co-operative Development Bank ISLAMIC CO-OPERATIVE DEVELOPMENT BANK
General Manager To: The Honorable Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you.
Subject: Change of Bank Name and Logo The Islamic Co-operative Development Bank hereby announces the change of its name to Nile Bank for Trade and Development under the new brand, effective from 17 February 2013. This step represents a significant event in the bank's journey and enhances its position in the Sudanese banking market, as we rely on our distinctive competitive position in this market, which is considered one of the most competitive banking markets, where we operate amidst competition from over 33 banks, building on our historical Arab heritage dating back to 1983. The new brand of our bank, Nile Bank, resulted from a comprehensive and in-depth study by our bank, which highlighted the necessity of developing an advanced vision for modern banking that keeps pace with the development of the local and international banking markets. This will increase the bank's competitiveness, enabling it to provide modern, contemporary banking services while reaffirming its leading position in the Sudanese banking market.
Nile Bank The new identity of the bank (Nile Bank) in both Arabic and English represents an important addition to the bank's history. We have used the Nile Bank logo in three different color variations, along with a font featuring rounded edges for some elements to give it a modern, youthful character that is closer to the customer. The use of the Arabic script makes the name clear and visible, while the circle represents the bank's continuous, unceasing work towards a better vision. The English letter (N) represents the first letter of the word "Nile" (the English name for the river), and also symbolizes the flow of the Nile and its tributaries merging into the base circle. Additionally, the Nile color was chosen for it, and the crescent/moon at the end of the logo reflects the bank's Islamic background and confirms its commitment to Islamic Sharia. Furthermore, the moon has been a source of inspiration for brilliance and captivating beauty among all peoples of the world throughout the ages.
