Uganda’s Capital Market in view of the EAC integration

The Capital Markets Authority (CMA) regulates Uganda's capital market, which has achieved significant growth through domestic listings and cross-listings of Kenyan companies. The CMA implements EAC Council Directives via the CMA (Amendment) Act 2016 to harmonize securities laws and facilitate the free movement of capital across East African member states. Collaborative efforts by the East African Securities Regulatory Authorities (EASRA) further support market integration through joint supervisory colleges and technical cooperation to deepen regional financial markets.
