Národná banka Slovenska amended its housing loan assessment decree to introduce stricter limits on the volume of loans granted to borrowers with significantly increased debt-to-income ratios. The regulation caps such high-risk lending at 7% of new quarterly volume and 5% of new half-yearly volume, while also extending these constraints to consumer loans and refining refinancing exemptions. These measures take effect on 1 January 2020, with specific transitional provisions applying through the first half of the year to manage the implementation timeline.
