PREPARATION FOR THE LAUNCH OF BSA API INTEGRATION

Reference is made to the above subject.

The Bank of Zambia is delighted to announce the upcoming launch of the Bank Supervision Application (BSA) Application Programming Interface (API). This is a significant milestone in enhancing institutions operational efficiency and regulatory compliance. The BSA API will streamline commercial banks reporting processes and facilitate seamless communication between our systems and those of regulated entities. To ensure a successful launch, we are requesting the following actions to be taken:

  • Review the provided BSA API documentation thoroughly to understand the API endpoints, data format and any specific requirements;
  • Designate a team member as the BSA API coordinator responsible for overseeing the integration process, coordinating tasks, and acting as a point of contact for queries in your respective institutions;
  • Evaluate your existing technical infrastructure to ensure it can support the BSA API integration and ensure that the necessary connectivity, resources, and security measures are in place;
  • Collaborate with our development team to design and implement the API integration;
  • Create a test environment to thoroughly test the integration for accuracy, data integrity, and security; and
  • Allocate appropriate budgets to cover the development, testing and deployment of the BSA API automation.

Your collaboration and diligent efforts in preparing for this launch will be greatly appreciated. In this regard, you are requested to conclude all development, testing and implementation of the API by June 30, 2024.
