On 19 and 20 May, the General Director of the Central Bank of the Republic of San Marino, together with colleagues from the technical table dedicated to Artificial Intelligence, took part in AI Week in Milan.
BCSM's presence at this international event, one of the main European appointments dedicated to the topic, fits into the path of adopting AI in its own processes, confirming the attention towards emerging technologies that are transforming the global economic, organizational, and financial architecture. Artificial Intelligence represents a strategic catalyst for BCSM: advanced tools for data analysis, predictive models for supervision, more efficient operational processes, and strengthened security systems against cyber threats. During the two-day event in Milan, the BCSM delegation actively participated in panels and interventions by international-level experts, delving into crucial topics such as the impact of the AI Act, software and hardware solutions to ensure data sovereignty, the review of business processes, the implications for complex organizations such as financial institutions, and training tools aimed at involving staff, an essential factor to ensure the success of the digital transformation underway. The event also offered the opportunity to compare notes with institutions, companies, and startups in the sector, expanding knowledge and strengthening relationships with strategic actors in the technological-financial world. Participation in AI Week testifies to BCSM's willingness to actively govern change, seizing the stimuli of a market in great ferment to build a San Marinese financial infrastructure that is increasingly state-of-the-art, secure, competitive, and aligned with European standards.
