Securities and Exchange Board of India (Foreign Venture Capital Investors) (Amendment) Regulations, 2025
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) issued the 2025 Amendment Regulations to introduce a new category of 'SWAGAT-FI' (Single Window Automatic and Generalised Access for Trusted Foreign Investor) within the Foreign Venture Capital Investors framework. These regulations exempt SWAGAT-FIs from specific investment limits and sub-regulation provisions applicable to other venture capital investors while modifying fee structures for registration renewal. The amendments insert new clauses into Regulations 2, 3, 9, 11, and the Second Schedule to define the category and outline its distinct regulatory treatment.
